To help you get the most out of the Chineasy app, here are five essential tips to make your learning journey efficient and fun.
Tip 1: Unlock New Levels Regularly
Unlock new levels in the Learn tab daily. Each level contains 4-6 new words, making it manageable. There are three types of levels:
- Circular levels: Introduce new words.
- Square levels: Quiz levels that test knowledge from the past 5-7 levels. Retake as many times as needed.
- Octagon levels: Checkpoint levels assessing knowledge from the past 15-20 levels. Limited to five attempts, these are more challenging.
Balancing learning new words with regular assessments is key to ensuring high-quality learning.
Tip 2: Use Speed Review to Make Vocabulary Stick
Worried about forgetting words? The Speed Review section can help.
Go to Review tab > Speed Review to revisit all your learned words. Using a Spaced Repetition System (SRS), review sessions are spaced out to enhance retention.
Set your preferences, like the number of cards per session and whether to include illustrations. Complete all cards to mark the session as finished.
For targeted practice, use the Words to Learn section to review challenging words.
Tip 3: Topic-Focused Learning
Prefer topic-based reviews like numbers, people, or food? We’ve got you covered.
Go to Review > Topics > VIEW ALL to see all available decks. Select a deck to view your unlocked words in that category.
Use the four icons in the top right corner.
- Fire icon: Enable or disable illustrations
- Arrow icon: Sort words chronologically or in reverse
- Pen icon: Practice writing Chinese characters
- Puzzle icon: Take quizzes related to the words in the deck
These options make reviewing words more fun and engaging.
Tip 4: Learning Through Story
Heard of learning through stories? Our Story offers just that.
Complete levels in the Learn tab to unlock new stories using words you’ve learned. Practice reading and listening with audio, and improve speaking by reading aloud.
Find the English translation and a list of learned words at the bottom of each story. Stories reinforce vocabulary and enhance reading, listening, and speaking skills.
Tip 5: Embrace the Diverse Content in the Explore Tab
The Explore tab offers diverse learning materials for wider needs!
Find blogs, videos, animated illustrations, and podcast lessons. Discover fun facts about the Chinese language, culture, and history. At the end of each blog, video, or podcast, answer two questions to test your knowledge.
Bookmark your favorite content in the ‘MY LIST’ section. Exploring diverse content enhances your learning and keeps you engaged.
