Genevieve is the Co-founder and ChiefMarketing Officer of Scout, a Manhattan-based startup combining AI with human intuition to help companies fill open positions at a fraction of the time and cost of traditional recruiting tools. Prior to Scout, Genevieve ran Marketing for Apartment List, the fastest-growing online rental marketplace in the U.S. Before joining the technology world, she spent 8 years in investment banking and investment management, most recently at Goldman Sachs. Genevieve earned a B.S. with Highest Honors from Georgia Tech and an MBA from MIT Sloan.

I met ShaoLan a few years back through mutual friends and we’ve been friends ever since. When I saw ShaoLan’s first TED talk I was struck by her unique teaching method that made Chinese feel so much more accessible to me than ever before. As a visual learner, the way she brings the language to life via illustrations really resonated with me. I love how each character conveys so much context. What a fascinating language.
