Jonathan Dugdale

Architectural historian, Archaeologist

Jonathan Dugdale is an architectural historian and archaeologist currently completing an AHRC funded PhD at the University of Birmingham, UK. A previous recipient of a ‘Huayu Enrichment Scholarship’, Jonathan studied at National Taiwan University’s Chinese Language Department for a year developing an interest in East Asian culture as well as a taste for Taiwanese food.

Jonathan has worked in television, print, and digital media as an expert contributor on East Asian history and architecture. His television credits include ‘China’s Forgotten Emperor’ and ‘Secrets of the Forbidden City’ and his writing has featured in news-media publications including the Conversation, the Independent and New Statesman’s City Metric.
