Stanley Johnson
Stanley Johnson is a British politician and author, and an expert on environmental and population issues. He was a Conservative MEP for Wight & Hampshire East and is a former employee of the World Bank and the European Commission. He is co-chairman of Environmentalists for Europe, a collection of pro-EU environmentalists, who campaigned for the UK to remain a member of the EU.
He has had several books published dealing with environmental issues, including the Politics of the Environment, the Earth Summit and the Environmental Policy of the European Communities. He is honorary President of the Gorilla Organisation and a former board member of Earthwatch amd Plantlife International. He is the recipient of the RSPCA’s award for outstanding service to animal welfare, Greenpeace’s award for outstanding service to the environment, the RSPB Medal and WWF’s Leader of the Living Planet Award. He has is also the author of nine novels, one of which was made into a film starring John Hurt. His latest novel KOMPROMAT will be published in September 2017.
