Duolingo language-learning app
Firstly, Duolingo is a free and enjoyable language-learning app that provides a comprehensive Chinese course covering essential vocabulary and grammar points. The course aims to help learners pass levels HSK 1 through HSK 3, which are equivalent to A1 level to B1 level of CEF. The app also offers many self-guided activities to gradually build learners’ vocabulary.

Pleco Chinese dictionary app
Another great resource is Pleco, a comprehensive Chinese dictionary and language reference tool that you can use to look up new words, find examples of words and sentences, and practice Chinese writing. It also offers advanced features for a fee, such as optical character recognition (OCR), which allows users to recognize characters on the go. You can use the OCR function to scan Chinese text, whether it’s a Chinese menu or package information written in Chinese, and the app will immediately provide the meaning.
